5-Days Ultimate Wildlife Adventure Overview
Embark on an unforgettable 5-day journey through Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations. From the ancient baobab-dotted landscapes of Tarangire National Park to the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater and the expansive beauty of Lake Manyara or Serengeti (optional), this itinerary offers an ideal blend of game viewing, scenic beauty, and authentic safari experiences. Day 1
Arusha – Tarangire
Early after breakfast, we will drive to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. The park consists of natural vegetation, mainly Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals during Tanzania’s dry season. Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. It is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and a few Ashy Starlings. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in Karatu near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Day 2
Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater
After an early morning breakfast, we will head to Ngorongoro Crater, the best time to spot animals. Enjoy a game drive around the crater, stopping for a picnic lunch at a small lake within the park. The lake is home to many hippos and migratory birds. Due to the animal “oasis” created within the crater, there is a high possibility of spotting every member of ‘The Big 5’: the lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and water buffalo. After a day of animal sightings, we will drive to a hotel near Lake Eyasi for the night.
Day 3
Lake Eyasi – Arusha
After breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Lake Eyasi for an amazing visit with the Hadzabe (The Bushmen). Experience the opportunity to go hunting with the bushmen, study their daily life, and explore Lake Eyasi’s stunning views. After this immersive experience, we will drive back to Arusha Town.
Day 4
Arusha Town – Arusha National Park
After breakfast, we depart for Arusha National Park, where you will enjoy a picnic lunch and a game drive. The park is at the base of Mount Meru and features diverse habitats, including forests home to black-and-white colobus monkeys. The park’s appeal lies mainly in its scenic views. After the game drive, we will drive to Moshi for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5
Materuni & Hot Springs
Materuni: Immerse yourself in Tanzania’s great outdoors. Start with a hike to Materuni Waterfalls for a refreshing dip, then visit a local farm to learn about Tanzania’s coffee industry and the life of the indigenous Chagga people.
Kikulekwa Hot Springs: Enjoy the clear, turquoise waters of the Chemka Hot Springs, surrounded by lush forest. This is the perfect place to relax after a long safari, inviting you to swim or explore. Return refreshed, revitalized, and relaxed.
