Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve
Jambo and welcome to East Africa! Your adventure begins in Dar es Salaam, where your guide will meet you. We’ll drive to our first lodge bordering the Selous Game Reserve, a hidden gem in Tanzania’s southern region.
- Arrival: Settle into the lodge nestled among trees by the Rufiji River.
- Lunch: Enjoy a delicious meal before embarking on a sunset boat cruise along the river, where you can spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds.
- Evening: Dinner by the campfire beside the river.

Days 2-3: Selous Game Reserve
Get ready for wildlife adventures! Over the next two days, explore Selous Game Reserve, one of Africa’s oldest and largest protected areas.
- Game Drives: Experience thrilling 4×4 game drives in open-sided vehicles with picnic lunches in this vast, undisturbed wilderness.
- Wildlife: Spot the Big Five and witness large herds of elephants, buffalos, lions, and wild dogs, among other incredible species.
- Unique Experience: Enjoy a crowd-free safari, soaking in the beauty of grasslands, lakes, and riverine forests.

Day 4: Selous Game Reserve to Mikumi National Park
Today, we’ll have a half-day wildlife safari in Selous before heading to Mikumi National Park, located on the northern border of Selous.
- Accommodation: Settle into a comfortable lodge just outside Mikumi.

Day 5: Mikumi National Park
Explore the abundant wildlife of Mikumi National Park on a full day of 4×4 game drives.
- Wildlife Spotting: Look for herbivores like wildebeest, buffalo, and zebra, along with the chance to see lions, leopards, and over 400 bird species.
- Scenic Plains: Experience the stunning Mkata Plains and enjoy a spectacular sunset before returning to the lodge.

Day 6: Udzungwa Mountains National Park
Venture into the lush forests of Udzungwa Mountains National Park, renowned for its biodiversity.

Day 7: Ruaha National Park

- Wildlife Encounters: Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, and leopards in this big game territory.

Days 8-9: Ruaha National Park

Day 10: Ruaha to Dar es Salaam
