5 Days, 4 Nights: Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater & Lake Natron

This is the Big Adventure safari and just right for you if you want to experience everything that Tanzania has to offer. We’ll take you on a journey of sights, sounds, and colors: a journey where you’ll witness a landscape of diversity and nature at its finest. From the golden plains of the Serengeti to the russets of Lake Natron, to the pink shimmer of flamingos on Soda Lake at the Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll travel across a glorious patchwork of habitats framed eternally by deep blue skies, golden horizons, and the indigo of star-filled nights. And all this, of course, with the opportunity to watch some of the most spectacular animals on the planet, including the Big Five. Adventures don’t come any bigger than this.

Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

We will leave Arusha early in the morning and travel to Serengeti National Park. We will journey on a road near the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, allowing for animal sightings along the way. The golden savannah and endless plains, teeming with zebras, wildebeest, and giraffes, make it easy to understand why the Serengeti is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. On this day, you will enjoy a picnic lunch on Naabai kopje (a small, rocky hill in a generally flat area), where you will have the opportunity to view the Serengeti’s famous pink-headed lizards. After lunch, we will proceed further into the plains for a leisurely game drive.

The animals found in the Serengeti are extremely diverse, so you will likely enjoy views of lions, (leopards if lucky), elephants, cheetahs, water buffalo, zebras, and wildebeest. Additionally, elands, hyenas, gazelles, crocodiles, giraffes, monkeys, baboons, hippos, and antelopes are all found within the park. Don’t worry about the time of year, because there are animals in the Serengeti all year round!

Day 2: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

This day marks the last game drive in Serengeti before we make our way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After an exciting game drive filled with animal sightings and a picnic lunch, we will drive to Ngorongoro. The views of the sunset over the savannah are absolutely breathtaking.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Natron

On this day, it’s best to depart for the Ngorongoro Crater as early as possible to see the variety of animals that are only active in the morning hours.

Ngorongoro is one of the most famous and interesting wildlife areas in Africa and Tanzania, boasting the greatest number of different animal species per square kilometer. You will have the chance to see buffalo, elephants, lions, black rhinoceros, wildebeests, zebras, hippopotamus, and feline species such as caracals and serval cats. You might also see a rhinoceros, an animal whose numbers are rapidly declining.

By lunchtime, you will arrive at the lakeside, where you will enjoy lunchboxes. Afterward, the safari will continue, ending in the late afternoon. We will then depart to Lake Natron for dinner and overnight.
