Tour Overview:

Our 3 nights 4 days Kikuletwa Hot Springs (chemka), Lake chala & Marangu trip has it all: culture, cuisine, caves and plenty of lively conversation. You’ll even take a dip in a waterfall or two, so bring your cozzie.

KIKULETWA HOT SPRINGS (Chemka) an oasis of geothermal warmth

The clear, turquoise waters of the Chemka Hot Springs that bubbles up from underground. Surrounded by lush forest alive with birdsong and the call of monkeys, the Chemka Hot Springs is an ideal place to ease those tired legs after a strenuous ascent up Kilimanjaro or return from a long safari. They’re a little bit of heaven that’s perfect for refreshments, and those warm blue waters invite you to linger, swim or explore. Return refreshed, revitalised and relaxed.

And if you really don’t want to leave just yet, we can organise an afternoon barbie or even an overnight stay.

Lake Chala

Lake Chala is a caldera lake fed by clean, cold underground streams from Kilimanjaro itself, and it’s renowned for its gloriously changing colours; from deepest turquoise to emerald green to azure and all colours in between. It’s a perfect place to relax and unwind and you’ve the choice of hiking, and picture the perfect countryside around the lake, swimming in its sparkling waters (don’t forget your cozzie!) or kayaking across the border to Kenya. Or all three! It’s a day full of getting up close and personal to one of the greatest (and quietest) treasures of Tanzania.

Marangu Village

Marangu town nestles on the fertile slopes of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, and it’s brimming with tradition. You’ll explore the culture and terrifying history of the Chagga Tribe (they built those caves for a reason) and you’ll take a short but delightful hike in the lush green landscape to a sparkling waterfall but, don’t worry, you won’t run out of energy because you’ll visit a coffee plantation and banana plantation where you’ll  have the chance to roast and make your own coffee, seeing and tasting local banana brewes
