Mount Meru

Mt. Meru, standing at 4,566 meters (14,980 feet), is Tanzania’s second-highest mountain and a stunning trekking destination. Located in Arusha National Park, it offers breathtaking scenery, diverse wildlife, and a challenging yet rewarding climb. Often used as acclimatization for Mt. Kilimanjaro, the trek to Meru’s summit takes 3–4 days, passing through lush forests, open grasslands, and rugged alpine landscapes. With fewer crowds than Kilimanjaro, climbers enjoy a serene and immersive experience, culminating in a spectacular sunrise view from Socialist Peak.
